Programs & Events - Tours
The Scott County Historical Society offers a variety of guided tours for the public. Tours can be of the historical society muse
um, 1908 Stans House, or both. Groups can also request special hands-on activities including churning butter, grinding wheat, planting corn, beating rugs, and games on the lawn (weather permitting). Regular admission fees apply ($4 for adults and $2 for students) but there are no extra fees for guides or hands-on activities. All tours must be scheduled in advance. Youth:
The Scott County Historical Society offers tours for youth – including specially designed tours for Scouts. These tours include tour of the exhibits and Stans house, and hands-on activities that meet badge requirements.
K-12 Students:
The Scott County Historical Society offers guided exhibit tours as a part of its field-trip program.
Adults:
The Scott County Historical Society offers tours for adults - including “Red Hats” and senior tours. These tours are led by staff or a knowledgeable docent. Tours are of the museum galleries and may include the Stans House as requested.
