SHAKOPEE, MN (4/01/2008) - Local genealogist Betty Dols weaves marvelous stories of German and Irish pioneers. Purchased in 1877, the cemetery was the second Catholic cemetery in Shakopee. Walk through the Catholic cemetery and learn about the Benedictine connection, a family murdered, how the first became last and the last became first, the intrepid widow, as well as other stories.
Location: Meet at Catholic Cemetery, located between Clay and Adams Streets on West 10th Avenue (across the street from the Women's Prison)

Minnesota Greatest Generation - Scott County Oral History Project (pdf version)
Shakopee (3/06/2007) - The Scott County Historical Society (SCHS), is collecting stories from Scott County residents to help preserve community history. This will be project will cover the time period from 1930 to early 1950, focusing on topics of family, school, work / service, and entertainment

Each month enjoy mining Minnesota's rich literature through lively discussions and at times, presentations and guest speakers. Meetings take place the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm in the historic 1908 Stans House, located in downtown Shakopee.
