Scott County Historical Society

Welcome to the Scott County Historical Society's website!  Located in the scenic Minnesota River Valley, visitors to the Stans Museum can explore interactive exhibits featuring the unique history and people of Scott County, Minnesota.

Named for Maurice H. Stans, the museum also includes exhibits commemorating the Stans family and Maurice and Kathleen Stans' African adventures.  The SCHS also maintains the Stans House.  Built in 1908, the house portrays life at the turn of the 20th century.  Most of the furnishings in the home are hands-on giving visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand the technologies and customs of the early 1900s.
